(More customer reviews)I ordered this about a month ago and am so happy with. It's a beautiful color and is heavy and of very good quality.I wanted a pot that would be heavy, durable, and pretty enough to serve in.The deep red color and design of this casserole is just amazing.I would love to have the whole set, and will purchase them again. I have made two soups and a spaghetti sauce this week. Today I am going to try doing a chicken and dumplings.I think it will be the perfect pan for the job. It's really nice for sauteing, deglazing and then adding stock or liquids. It is about 1/4 the cost of other similar brands.A great value!

A Southern take on the classic Dutch oven, this 5-quart cast iron round casserole from venerable Southern cook Paula Deen is a great choice for slow-cooking and simmering everything from soups and stews to hearty chili and braised meats. The exterior features a two-toned porcelain enamel in burgundy with a unique swirl pattern that's resistant to stains and a breeze to clean up. The casserole's cast iron core guarantees even heat distribution, so your food won't burn and it will remain hot throughout your meal. Broiler safe, you can also use this casserole out on your grill. The spacious, solid cast loop handles on either side make it easy to grip it confidently, even with bulky potholders or mitts. Hand wash only. Backed by a 1-year warranty.
Paula Deen got her start with a lunchtime catering business in Savannah, Georgia called The Bag Lady before opening her successful restaurant, The Lady & Sons. And now she spreads her distinctive and authentic Southern delicacies--from real Southern fried chicken and hoecakes to Krispy Kreme bread pudding--via the Food Network and several best-selling cookbooks.
