(More customer reviews)This is gorgeous and also does an amazing job of keeping things hot. It can stay in the car all day in a Maine winter and my drink will still be warm. (And if it's not freezing cold outside, say just 60's, the hot tea I make in the morning is still too hot to drink when I drive home at night. Frustrating for me and the cold I had, but awesome for the thermos.)
Note that it is double-layer stainless steel and will last for years and years. I imagine the blue will start getting scratched at some point, but that hasn't happened to me in the first year. I also like the black rubber grippers, which are well placed for pouring or if you're going to drink straight from the thermos.
Info from the tag on the bottle: "TherMax vacuum insultation virtually eliminates temperature change by creating an airtight space between two stainless steel walls. The result is an insulation layer that performs better than any other..."
Around the same time, I also got a Farberware flask:
Farberware 18 oz Flask with Rubberized Blue Finish
The two do comparable jobs of keeping things warm. The Raya is markedly larger in outside dimensions and holds an extra two ounces. It probably also does a better job of keeping things warmer, but I've done a few tests of keeping these in the car all day, and they seem similar. (I need to do a side-by-side comparison, but of course, that would mean not having a warm drink with me. :-)
The top on this one is a standard Thermos top that you can twist part way to pour; the Farberware is a pop top thing (push it in to enable pouring; push it again to seal it back). Both bottles are three-piece, with a cap, and inner pouring top, and the bottle itself. The neck diameter is the same on the two bottles.
I mostly prefer the Faberware for carrying around because of its smaller profile, but I like them both. And neither are well designed for drinking from the bottle; although they're "personal size" (to me), the tops are designed for pouring, not drinking.
UPDATE, a year later: The Farberware pop-top broke after a few months' use, and this is still going strong and clearly will for years to come. It wins, hands down. I love it, and have bought another one.
